In the Honors College, my primary teaching occurs through the transdisciplinary exploration of issues ranging from identity and empathy to childhood, fear, religion, and the history of ideas. While literature is my foremost discipline, I routinely bring race and gender studies, film, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, history, political science, and cognitive science into my Honors courses. Whether for Honors, English, or Blount, my primary teaching offerings and interests include Shakespeare, Renaissance literature (especially Milton and Donne), Great Books, children's literature, and film.
